Natural Ingredients Including:
Psyllium Seed & Husks: A source of fiber used
safely worldwide to keep the digestive system clean;
able to absorb water and expand the bulk of stool,
gently helping the body remove old, undigested
debris from intestinal walls.
Natural Laxatives (Cascara Sagrada, Aloe Vera,
Elderberry & More): Pull water and electrolytes
into the large intestine, reducing bloating,
increasing the amount of fluids in the intestines
and safely stimulating peristalsis - the natural,
autonomic muscle contractions of small and large
intestines which is necessary to move food along the
gut.
Buckthorn & Gentain: Help the bowels evacuate
normally by stimulating digestive secretions and
intestinal contractions thereby aiding the body in
the expulsion of waste.
Rhamnus Purshiana: Acts as a parasiticide,
expelling worms and other impurities from the colon.
Licorice Root Extract: A highly effective
natural laxative that also aids in the body's
self-repair mechanisms; contains glycyrrhizic acid
with has been shown in clinical studies to
accelerate the healing of gastric ulcers.
Berberine Alkaloids (Barberry & Goldenseal Root):
Exhibit strong antimicrobial effects, aiding in the
eradication of toxins in the lower tract and
inhibiting the adhesion of disease cells (bacteria,
fungi, parasites, etc.) to the body's host cells,
making them useful for the majority of common
gastrointestinal infections.
Potassium: An essential electrolyte often
depleted by an increase of fluids in the intestinal
tract.
Pectin: Believed useful in colon cleansing
because of its gelatinous, lubricating qualities.
Free Form Amino Acids, Micro-Nutritionals & More:

The Complete List of ingredients for Colon-Aid +:
The ingredients for Colon-Aid +:
Psyllium Seed and Husks -
Magnesium - A mineral that comes in many forms and
abilities to assimilate. The presence of magnesium
nutritionally helps metabolize calcium, Vitamin C
and carbohydrates; nutritionally promotes healthy
teeth, nerves and muscles; and energizes and fights
against sadness, stress and unhappiness. Magnesium
is excellent in nutritively helping many skin
troubles, being a necessary electrolyte essential
for all cell functions, from neural pathways acting
in neuromuscular transmission, to being an important
cofactor in cell metabolism, required for lipid/fat
metabolism, thiamine utilization and enzyme
reactions.Magnesium works with many of the B
vitamins and is a necessary part of amino acid
synthesis and general functioning as well. Perhaps
its most important function is its involvement in
Phosphate-transfer reaction and changes in energy
states within the body.
Cascara Sagrada - An herb long known for its
purgative powers both in humans and animals, having
a natural laxative effect when used in small
amounts. May be used for constipation; all
conditions in which easy bowel evacuation with soft
stools is desirable, for example in cases of anal
fissures, hemorrhoids and after recto-anal
operations.This herb safely increases peristalsis
(the autonomic muscle contractions of the small and
large intestines which is necessary to move food
along the gut) without making the body dependent on
it, one of the only herbs to work in such a fashion.
Cascara sagrada is generally not detrimental to
peristaltic movement if used for long periods of
time. Active ingredients include a complex mixture
of hydroxyantthracene glycodes, mainly a mixture of
antrone glycosides, cascarosides, and aloins. These
substances induce active secretion of electrolytes
and water into the intestinal lumen and inhibit
absorption of electrolytes and water from the large
intestine, The resulting increase in volume of the
bowel contents increases pressure in the intestine
and thus stimulates intestinal peristalsis. With
frequent or prolonged use, increased loss of water
and potassium salts is possible and possibly lead to
the deposition of pigment in the intestinal mucosa.
Should not be used during pregnancy and lactation or
if an intestinal obstruction is suspected. Also used
as a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional (botanical). (Homeopathic
potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to
the electromagnetic signatures of the original
substrate; these are scientifically created
dilutions and succussions of medicines such that
generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: chronic
indigestion, cirrhosis and jaundice, gastric
headache, broad, flabby tongue, foul breath,
hemorrhoids and constipation; -rheumatism of muscles
and joints with obstinate constipation (Boericke)
-"It is of service in constipation when attended
with foul breath, broad flabby tongue and headache;
also in rheumatism that is attended with
constipation." (Blackwood)
Rhubarb - Used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional (botanical). (Homeopathic
potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to
the electromagnetic signatures of the original
substrate; these are scientifically created
dilutions and succussions of medicines such that
generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: colicky pain
about the navel; colic when uncovering; wind (gas)
seems to rise up into the chest; -before stool,
unsuccessful urging to urinate; -stools smell sour,
pasty, with shivering and tenesmus and burning in
anus; -colicky, even ineffectual urging to evacuate
altered fecal stools (Boericke).
Buckthorn - A mild herb useful in purging the
system, having some historical precedence of being
used as a laxative for constipation by the early
Native Americans. Pharmaceutical action is derived
from 1,8-dihydroxy-anthracene which has a laxative
effect. These compounds increase the motility of the
colon by inhibiting stationary and stimulating
propulsive contractions. This results in accelerated
intestinal passage and, because of the shortened
contraction time, a reduction in liquid absorption
through the lumen. In addition, stimulation of
active chloride secretion increases the water and
electrolyte content of intestinal contents. As with
all natural laxatives, prolonged use should be
avoided as it could upset potassium balance, as well
as the balance of other electrolytes.
Barberry - European Barberry, also grown in North
America, whose wood is very fine-grained and hard,
generally yellow; used for toothpicks and mosaic
work. Wood and bark are a source of dye. Also
contains berberine., useful as a tonic and for
gastrointestinal problems. Also known to dilate
blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Berberine is a strong antiseptic that is also found
in Golden Seal. It is a stimulant on the myocardium
and intestinal smooth muscle. Historically, Barberry
was found to be used by the North American Indians
for treating the liver, normalizing function; also
effective against mouth ulcers and pyorrhea,
syphilis and typhoid fever. Barberry will also
reduce inflammation of the spleen caused by
irritations due to contaminated blood, or blood
laden with toxins. See "Berberine alkaloid" for a
more in depth study of the major phytomedicinal in
Barberry.
Elderberry - This herb has historically been used to
change bodily processes, especially those concerned
with the lower tract, having been used by Native
Americans as a natural laxative from infusions of
its flowers. It had many other folk remedies which
apparently included animal husbandry. Quite
interestingly, when the pith is removed from its
stems, it makes an excellent nesting place for
solitary bees, especially near alfalfa fields where
their presence aids in pollination. Topically it
contains a number of essential oils and is thus
considered a skin restorative while cleansing soars
and bruises.
Licorice Root Extract -
Bentonite - Native colloidal, hydrated aluminum
silicate; this absorbent clay found in the western
United States is traditionally used in conjunction
with other agents in the body's abilities to aid and
protect against diarrhea and skin profusions.
Pectin - Pectin consists largely of long chains of
galacturonic acid units and is largely responsible
for the jelling of fruits. Perhaps of interest to
myself alone is the fact that Pectin was actually
discovered by my Great Uncle Billy Young, who I'm
told was a rather eccentric chemist. When not in the
laboratory inventing things, Great Uncle Billy would
spend most of his life treasure-hunting around the
world! (You can trust that this behavior is not in
the least catching!) On a more practical side,
Pectin has been thought useful in colon cleansing
formulations as well because the natural gelatinous
substance is a fine lubricant, and an expander as
well.
Gentain - An herb of southern and central Europe
generally grown as an ornamental in gardens because
of its wondrous yellow flowers. Extracts from its
flowers and roots are also thought to aid in
digestion and help stimulate digestive secretions.
Also found as one of the main ingredients in many
preparations of "bitters," "angostura bitters" being
one of the most prominent, it has also been found to
demonstrate choleretic (bile producing) activity in
animals. It's used as an additive in many frozen ice
cream and dairy products, candy, baked goods,
gelatins and puddings as well because of its curious
flavor enhancing abilities.Used as a Homeopathic or
simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical).
(Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and
efficacy to the electromagnetic signatures of the
original substrate; these are scientifically created
dilutions and succussions of medicines such that
generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: acid risings,
ravenous hunger, nausea, weight and aching in
stomach; stomach symptoms marked, acts as a tonic;
-inflation and tension in stomach and abdomen;
-colic, umbilical region sensitive to touch;
flatulence (Boericke) -dull feeling of whole body
and morose mood, with general dejection; -dry mouth,
bitter or earthy taste; nausea, vomiting, colic;
-diarrhea with yellow stools; rheumatic pains,
weakness, sensations of constriction are marked and
common; symptoms worse in afternoon, also after
eating and on motion (Clarke).
Aloe Vera - Throughout history, the powers of the
Aloe vera plant have been extolled. Its natural
powers of calming and soothing the skin, as well as
naturally balancing the pH of the skin, are well
known. Used cosmetically, this herb in the proper
concentration can be a true balm of Gilead.
Herbalists have long known of its wondrous affect in
soothing chapped, sunburned, and broken skin as well
as providing temporary comfort for minor burns, cuts
and wounds. It gives suppleness to dry and
weather-etched skin while naturally moisturizing. It
can be used effectively both internally or
externally, containing 20 amino acids and assorted
peptides and alkaloids.Active ingredients include
hydroxyanthracene derivatives of the anthrone type,
very effective as a laxative when taken internally,
inducing an active secretion of water and
electrolytes into the lumen of the gut and
inhibiting the absorption of electrolytes and water
by the colon. It may turn the urine harmlessly red
when used often enough. Topically used for the
burns, sunburn and mild abrasions; thought to have
many healing properties because of the presence of
7-hydroxyaloin isomers and various chromone
derivatives with C-glucoside aleresin B and p-cormaroyl
aloeresins A and C.Also used as a Homeopathic or
used simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical).
(Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and
efficacy to the electromagnetic signatures of the
original substrate; these are scientifically created
dilutions and succussions of medicines such that
generally not even a molecule of the original
substrate or medicine is present in the medicine).
As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: "Excellent
remedy to aid in reestablishing physiological
equilibrium after much dosing...Bad effects from
sedentary life or habits." -abdomen feels full,
heavy, hot, bloated; -great accumulation of gas
pressing downwards causing distress in lower bowels;
colic before and during stool; -sensation of a plug
between symphysis and os coccygis with urging to
stool; -constant bearing down in rectum; sense of
insecurity in rectum; -a lot of mucous with pain in
rectum after stool; -burning in anus and rectum;
-constipation with heavy pressure in lower part of
abdomen (Boericke).
Goldenseal Root - This multipurpose herb contains
berberine alkaloid, a natural antibiotic which in
itself has been found to be exceptionally effective
in the relief of colds and fevers, as well as
eradicating a number of toxins, heavy metals, free
radicals and foreign wastes from the body.
Cosmetically, it has value too, soothing broken,
roughened, even blistered skin.
L-Glutamic Acid - Under certain conditions, L-Glutamic
acid is an essential amino acid. Glutamic acid along
with Glutamine, are the dominant amino acids of the
cerebrospinal fluid and serum. Known as one of the
notorious three musketeers in brain neurochemistry,
Glutamic acid is a uniquely powerful brain food, an
excitatory neurotransmitter which paradoxically can
give rise to GABA, an inhibitory and balancing
neurotransmitter within the brain. Glutamic acid is
found in concentration within the hippocampus (the
memory centers of the brain), in cranial nerves as
well as other areas of information transfer to
effect motor response. This amino acid is essential
for the production of other nonessential amino
acids, a process called "transamination."
DL-Methionine - This is an essential amino acid
containing sulfur. In its natural or "L-" form, L-Methionine
is thought to be a powerful antioxidant preventing
free-radical damage to tissues. It is also active in
detoxifying heavy metals from the body. In its "D-"
form, (the chemical-mirror image of the "L-" form),
D-Methionine is thought useful in suppressing
excessive histamine levels in the blood serum, as
recent research has shown. It is also thought to be
nutritionally advantageous for those experiencing
the seasonal problems of runny, stuffy nose, itching
and weeping eye and other related
difficulties.DL-Methionine can nutritionally inhibit
the production of the hormone "histamine" from the
amino acid "histidine." DL-Methionine is used as
well for those experiencing joint and muscle hurt.
Also, suppression of histamine levels have been
shown to be a nutritionally effective means to
improve male libido, and sexual drive, as well as
address the sexual problems of premature
ejaculation, as is thought by some researchers.
Increased levels of histamine in males may retard
libido function whereas it may increase same in
women. Conversely, high levels of methionine in
females has the effect of perhaps reducing libido if
not corrected with histidine supplementation. Also
of some interest is that under certain conditions,
methionine supplementation can nutritionally
increase dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine:
three very necessary brain neurotransmitters.
L-Aspartic Acid - This is an amino acid that
promotes uptake of trace elements and is intricately
involved with the energy cycle of the body, linking
two of the body's most important biochemical
pathways, the Urea cycle (the foundation of nitrogen
metabolism) and the Krebs Cycle (the body's pathways
for metabolism of carbohydrate). Aspartic acid in
its "L-" form, L-Aspartic acid, is a major
excitatory transmitter in the Human brain, and is
the precursor of acetylaspartic acid, the most
highly concentrated amino acid neurotransmitter in
the brain. Aspartic acid, as well, is involved in
the building of DNA and orotates. Aspartic acid and
Phenylalanine are the amino acids which make up
Aspartame, the new artificially derived "amino
acid," which is now used commonly as a sweetener.
Potassium Bicarbonate - A source of potassium which
can also be used as an effective buffering agent to
an acid pH system, especially beneficial during oral
chelation with EDTA.
Aloe - Throughout history, the powers of the Aloe
vera plant have been extolled. Its natural powers of
calming and soothing the skin, as well as naturally
balancing the pH of the skin, are well known. Used
cosmetically, this herb in the proper concentration
can be a true balm of Gilead. Herbalists have long

As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: "Has a very
intense and definite action especially on the
gastroenteric tract." -pain in stomach after food;
pain and distension of abdomen from flatulence,
after stool; -rumbling and rolling (in abdomen);
-diarrhea with sudden and forcible ejection of
bilious stools; -ileo-cecal region sensitive to
pressure (Boericke).
Jalapa - Used as a Homeopathic medicine (botanical).
(Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and

As a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional, it has demonstrated effectiveness
against the following symptomology: -"Faulty
elimination that produces jaundice and various skin
eruptions is pictured by this drug." -atonic
dyspepsia with much eructation and flatulent
distension, soreness in region of liver;
-yellowish-green stool with tenesmus and burning at
anus (Boericke) -"This agent acts upon the liver,
duodenum, small intestines and colon, producing an
increased activity of the bile forming function of
the liver and increasing secretions from the glands
of the intestinal tract." (Blackwood).
Podophyllum peltatum - Used as a Homeopathic or used
simply as a micro-nutritional (botanical).
(Homeopathic potencies accredit their strength and

green, watery, fetid, profuse, gushing; -prolapse of
rectum before or with stool; -constipation
alternating with diarrhea; -constipation:
clay-colored, hard, dry, difficult (Boericke).
Rhamnus purshiana - A small bush or shrub grown in
North America, and a close relative of Cascara
Sagrada, wherein the dried bark is used medicinally,
as a tonic and laxative in the colon. Contains
emodin, purshinanin, a glucosid and cascarin. Also
acts anthelminthically, or as a parasiticide,
expelling worms and other impurities. Buckthorn,
although less powerful than Cascara Sagrada, helps
the bowels evacuate normally by stimulating the flow
of bile from the liver to the gall bladder. Like
Cascara Sagrada, Buckthorn is not habit forming when
used as directed. It also exhibits diuretic
properties, reduces fever, helps relieve gallstones,
and has even been useful in the removal of worts and
the cessation of various skin problems, all of which
is attributable to the purging properties it
exhibits.
Rheum - Used as a Homeopathic or used simply as a
micro-nutritional (botanical). (Homeopathic
potencies accredit their strength and efficacy to
the electromagnetic signatures of the original
substrate; these are scientifically created
dilutions and succussions of medicines such that
